Heritage Chart - TV Show - Episode 37

On 14th November 1952 the New Musical Express published the first-ever UK singles chart. Devised by the NME's Percy Dickins 20 record shops were telephoned each week and their biggest-selling singles added to create the chart. It was a Top 12 but there were 15 songs listed as some were tied. Artists included Al Martino, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, Vera Lynn, Rosemary Clooney, Frankie Laine, Guy Mitchell, Johnnie Ray & Max Bygraves....that's our heritage....in today's Heritage Chart.....we have classic artists including Bruce Springsteen, Lamont Dozier, Richard Marx, Owen Paul, The Fizz, The Korgis, The Cowsills, Terry Jacks, The Starjets, Cindy Alter, Music4Ukraine & The Automatics.
